The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office and St. Charles Parish School System have partnered to create the Teaching Awareness To Schools Kids (TASK) program to prevent sexual abuse against citizens.

This week parents will receive a brochure outlining an effort aimed at better informing them when sex offenders move in their neighborhoods.

The program is being done in conjunction with the OffenderWatch Initiative (OWI).

OffenderWatch Initiative attended the 72nd Annual Joint Conference for the Florida School Boards Association on November 28 - December 1, 2017. They presented the TASK program to the board while there. The projected TASK launch is June 2018. Approximately 500 people attended the conference.

Rose and Julio attended the New England Council on Crime and Delinquency conference November 5-8, 2017. OWI presented the TASK Program to representatives from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
